Caritas - Diffa - Niger

Abdou Malamdjibril with his wife Falmata and children in the village of Guidan Kaji near the border with Nigeria on the outskirts of Diffa, Niger on February 13, 2016. hey traveled to the village from Nigeria and were displaced 5 times in the last year, crossing 2 countries. Abdou attempts to pick up labouring work in a nearby village when available. They received blankets and clothes from Caritas during the last distribution. Displaced people from Niger and Nigeria are sheltering in the village after fleeing at the nearby border. Many of the families had witnessed attacks by Boko Haram in their villages or had fled because of other villages around them being attacked. Caritas undertook a distribution of sleeping covers, mosquito nets, pots and money transfers.
