HIV Project Conakry
HIV activist Mamadou Alpha Diallo inside the MSF mobile clinic in the neighbourhood of Sangoyah Market, Conakry, Guinea on March 17, 2016. MSF launched a HIV testing campaign in Conakry with the support of health authorities moving throughout several neighbourhoods throughout 2016.
"I am involved in this campaign because I am a member of a HIV association, it’s made up of people infected by HIV who have AIDS. On the announcement of a positive result (for HIV) I saw that’s it’s not easy (for the patient) but because I often have these cases I am able to handle the situation. When the results are negative I counsel the patient to remain vigilant so they do not contaminate the virus. What motivates me overall in this campaign in the fight against HIV, in 2012 I took on a case of children with HIV whose cases I followed during 2 years. With them I saw that the victims of HIV are extremely vulnerable. This pushed me to fight HIV/AIDS."
